The next debut on MAGAZINE:
Collaborating in art, music and science since 1999, recently founding the label MAGAZINE
and the collective Cologne Tape, this is nevertheless the first time Barnt, Crato and Jens-
Uwe Beyer aka POPNONAME appear together as one formation, simply called MAGAZINE.
If you combine their recent releases – Barnts stunning debut EP “What Is A Number, That
A Man May Know It?”, Crato’s acclaimed and mysterious “30.6.1881”, J-U Beyer’s
incredible sound work on his highly respected last album (with Jaki Liebezeit’s Drums Off
Chaos) and add the Cologne Tape recordings you can get an idea of the formation’s
cosmos — but you are not quite there…
Living in Cologne the past decade with exceptions of some years spent in London and
Manchester, the group is based on DJ-culture as much as on the german electronic music
tradition as you will hear: The whole record is pockmarked with overflowing melodies —
sometimes well structured, sometimes wild and wooly. Sum up Hieroglyphic Being-like
arpeggios and transparent, highly original computer rhythms or strange eight-oh-eightlive
drumming and choir-or-not-like sounds and you get these strange dance floor
moments again – Impossible to make out whether the peculiarity of this EP’s sound is all
intentional or accidental.
The artwork continues the conceptual MAGAZINE series on high quality, heavy stock
– something to hold in your hands!

A very limited edition of 44 records comes with a stamped and numbered individual print
(series of 44 b/w prints, 29x29cm)!

Cologne-based Popnoname has played practically everywhere in the world and yet he still maintains to be somewhat a secret.
He has worked with prominent artists like The Field, Ada and The Modernist among others, and is a Popnoname has been released on labels like Italic and Kompakt and we’re convinced that his synth-pop will be a refreshing addition to the Trailerpark line-up.

Ein Kreis schliesst sich. Bei Jens-Uwe Beyers Veranstaltungreihe POPNONAME POPNOSHOW POPNOPARTY im Kleinen Schauspielhaus Wuppertal ist am 25.06.2011 Jaki Liebezeit (Ex-CAN) mit seiner DrumKombo Drums Off Chaos zu Gast. Wie schon bei der ersten Veranstaltung vor knapp 1 1/2 Jahren spielen die Kölner Reiner Linke, Maf Retter & Jaki Liebezeit zusammen mit Jens-uwe Beyer ein ekstatisches, urbanes wie elektronisches Live-Set zum Anlass des NRW-Theatertreffens 2011.

In der Zwischenzeit ist viel passiert: Ein gemeinsames Album wurde auf dem Kölner Label MAGAZINE veröffentlicht mit grossen Feedback aus internationaler Presse wie Rolling Stone, Spex, Wire oder Mojo und eine Vielzahl an Konzerten.

Station 17 ist ein Musikprojekt aus Hamburg, dass aus Menschen mit und ohne Behinderungen besteht. Seit 1988 arbeiten sie in einer unterschiedlichen Besetzung und mit einer Reihe von namenhaften Künstlern zusammengearbeitet.
Unter den Künstlern sind Menschen von Can, Einstürzende Neubauten, Fettes Brot, Fishmob, Steve Bug, DJ Koze…..und und und.

POPNONAME / COLOGNE, KOMPAKT – LIVE ACT!

Iza imena POPNONAME krije se muzičar Jens – Uwe Beyer. Rođen je 1978. godine u Fehmarnu, trenutno živi u Cologneu (Nemačka). Pored standardnog objavljivanja u okviru Kompaktovih Pop Ambient izdanja, objavio je nekoliko 12” za izdavačke kuće FIRM i ITALIC iz Colognea. Njegov debi album iz 2007.godine White Album (Italic) dobija pregršt pozitivnih recenzija i od nemačkih ali i internacionalnih kritičara. Naredne 2008.godine, sa drugim albumom Suranded By Weather (Italic) probija se do većeg broja publike. Izdao je svoj Hello Gorgeous maxi, Terranova remix, u 2010. sa kojim je bio deo i Immer 3 diska, kompilacijskog mix diska Michaela Mayera, koosnivača Kompakta a prisutan je i u okviru Total 11 kompliacije. Trenutno radi na trećem albumu koji bi trebalo da se pojavi 2011. www.popnoname.de
